During the peak of forwarded emails, health misinformation increasingly spread. Not today. The Internet has given people the capability to send wild stories that end up rapidly increasing around the world in a matter of hours. Before it causes you stress and make you more paranoid, here is a list of false health rumors that you shouldn’t believe.

Consume eight glasses of water a day. Health experts constantly tell people to drink eight glasses of fluid daily. After a while, most of us believed we really needed eight glasses of water in addition to what we eat and drink every day. The truth is that water’s great. But you can also get the same benefits with other healthy staples such as juice, tea, milk, fruits, and vegetables. All of these are enough to keep you hydrated. So instead of feeling uncomfortable by bloating your belly just to have eight glasses of water, opt for other foods that can hydrate you.

Stress will turn your hair gray. You’ve already heard this a million times. And by worrying more and more about it, you’re becoming more stressed. The truth is: Too much stress does age us inside and out. It increases the number of free radicals that assault healthy cells, and boosts stress hormones in your body. But aside from that, no scientific evidence has proven that a bad day can turn your hair gray.

Eggs are believed to increase your cholesterol. This was due to the health experts linking blood cholesterol with heart disease and eggs. In reality, studies and research have found that saturated and trans fats are the ones that increase heart disease risk, not dietary cholesterol. With only about 200 mg of cholesterol, one egg is advisable to achieve a healthy diet. And people should not have more than 300 mg a day.
